Fundraising Manager (part-time)

Essential Christian is the charity home of Spring Harvest, arguably the most trusted Christian event in the UK.  With many exciting new opportunities emerging for us to develop and grow our ministry, we need someone to share our stories to those who resonate with our mission, and to connect those who want to enable evangelism, mission and life-changing national impact, with the team who deliver the ministry.

The vision for Spring Harvest, is to Gather, Grow, Go – to create shared experiences and new opportunities, through worship, teaching, prayer and fun, for all ages to meet with God and be empowered for the spiritual adventure we’ve been called to live.    In this next year we want to focus on young people; seeing the next generation won for God and discipled to serve Him across all the denominations of the UK.  We’re a cause worth fighting for with ministry impact that we’re grateful to the Lord for entrusting us with.

We are therefore seeking an experienced Fundraising manager to help us sustain our ministry and realise growth initiatives.  The ideal candidate will have proven success in delivering strategic campaigns that grow regular and one-off donations, as well as income from grant-making trusts and foundations.   Whilst having some overlap with our wider ministries in event management and supporting Christian song writers, this role will primarily be focussed on ensuring that the vision for Spring Harvest can be realised.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated in initiating and delivering targeted income generation, developing meaningful relationships with grant-making trusts and potential donors, and project-managing compelling fundraising campaigns.   Meticulous attention to detail and a good understanding of regulatory compliance will be essential.  Experience of Spring Harvest and knowledge of the Christian constituents we seek to serve, will be preferable, but fundamentally, you will be fully committed to our Christian ethos and able to represent our vision and core values with integrity, authority and passion when speaking or writing grant applications.

This role therefore holds an occupational requirement under the Equality Act for the post-holder to be a practising and committed Christian, seeking to grow in their discipleship, and an active and regular worshipping member of a Christian church.

This is a hybrid-working role based in Uckfield, East Sussex.  You will ideally be contracted to work 25 hours per week with a minimum of 3 days per week working from our offices.  For the right candidate, we are willing to consider this as a full-time role. You will therefore live or be willing to relocate to within a 90-minute commute of Uckfield.
